Woo Hoo! We were so excited to welcome campers back to Camp KCA at the beautiful Camp Horsin’ Around site!

After check-in yesterday, everyone got settled in and acquainted with new and old cabin friends. We enjoyed a pizza dinner before heading to the opening campfire; which included lots of skits, songs, celebrations, and of course- S’Mores! We also recognized our new campers with bravery coins.

After a restful night’s sleep, we began the morning with Polar Bear Swim before fueling up with breakfast. The morning was filled with campers catching their first fish of the week, music time, and making kites, quilt boards, and ceramic painting in Arts & Crafts!
Our lunch today was sponsored by Baird employees & foundation and we’re very grateful to them! The afternoon was busy with lots of swim time, creative brainstorming of talent show acts during Music Time, and melty beads in Arts & Crafts.
After a yummy dinner, Cabin 2 was awarded the Clean Cabin award! Our evening activity was campwide Bingo and everyone had a blast!

We didn’t let a few light rain showers rain on our camp fun – it was such a great first full day and we are looking forward to lots more fun tomorrow.
