Kicking Off Teen Camp Week!

Woo Hoo! We were so excited to welcome campers back to in-person summer camp!
After check-in yesterday, everyone got settled in and acquainted with new and old cabin friends. We enjoyed dinner before heading to opening camp fire; which included lots skits, songs, celebrations, and of course- S’Mores!
After a restful night’s sleep, we began the morning with Polar Bear “Splash” (a water balloon twist of our typical Polar Bear Swim) before fueling up with breakfast.
Then we held a beautiful Celebration of Life Ceremony, which included a moment of silence and sharing happy memories of those who are no longer with us. We also unveiled a new memory lantern.
The morning also included campers catching their first fish of the week, practicing their archery skills, making decoupage lanterns & baskets in Arts & Crafts, and breaking in the brand new Putt-Putt course onsite at Camp Horsin Around!
The afternoon was busy with lots of swim time, creative brainstorming of talent show acts during Music Time, and searching for crawdads and geodes at the creek.
Evening activities included camp-wide Bingo, pizza, and each cabin was visited by the Easter Bunny. We had such a great first full day and are looking forward to lots of Independence Day Themed fun tomorrow.
