Terrific Thursday (Younger Sibling)
| June 28, 2019
We cannot believe it is already Thursday here at Indian Summer Camp. It was “sleep in” day, so we woke up an hour later than usual, which was much needed for everyone. Our Polar Bear swimmers got up to make their second to last plunge of the week! Then we headed to the dining hall to eat sausage biscuits.
After breakfast, the entire camp played a food extravaganza game. With games like super market Sweep, oatmeal seek & find, egg toss and more! Our kiddos had an amazing time getting messy while having fun.
For lunch, we ate chicken fingers and mac and cheese; a popular favorite food here at camp. We had some visitors from the University of Louisville football team pass out miniature helmets while they hung out with our campers.
Our usual quiet time followed. Campers took naps and tidied up their cabin, in hopes to win the Clean Cabin award at dinner. Those who win the Clean Cabin award, not only get a prize, but also get to sit at the “chef’s table” with a chocolate fountain centerpiece.
Our campers enjoyed a delicious dinner donated by Zaxby’s (Thank you!) Later we started our evening activity, which was our annual talent show. We have so many amazing talents here at camp. Some might say it was the best one yet!
After the talent show, our campers threw wish sticks into a campfire, while reflecting on the fun we had this week. We are excited for our last day of camp, but we are not ready for the week to end.
The campers are tucked in bed now getting their beauty sleep for the dance tomorrow.
Goodnight from Indian Summer Camp.
